A lesson I taught on static electricity:
Attention: Showed a brief youtube video of a person pumping gas at a gas station, going back into their car, coming out of car, touching the handle of pump and starting a massive fire. This definitely got their attention and led to a discussion about what is static electricity and how it occurs.
Relevance: All students have felt a static shock and seen lightning, so this concept definitely has relevance in their lives.
Confidence: Learners are able to feel confidence and deepen their understanding through a number of demos they go through where they create static and use static in various ways.
Satisfaction: Talked about the demos after and could see students were satisfied with activity by the number of students who participated in giving answers and by the knowledge they had acquired about static electricity.
